Hoddesdon v Bedford

Hoddesdon v Bedford at Lowfields in the South Midland League Division 1.

Hoddesdon have been playing at their current home for over 100 years

The ground is in a park donated by a Mr. Barclay of Barclay Bank fame.

The local cricket club play next door.
There is one main stand. The rest of the ground is railed off with hard standing.

The Clubhouse was comfy and warm on this coldish evening.

Hoddesdon romped into a 5 goal lead by half time.

Half time 5-0

In the second half Bedford put up a more spirited performance.

Final score Hoddesdon Town 7- Bedford 1

Attendance 78

Programme too big****

Clubhouse bar closed

Last weekend I was full of praise for the no nonsense approach of the referee tonight we had one of those refs who started the match 5 minutes late and stopped the match and watch for every incident .

The game not finishing until 9.45  - 15 minutes late.

**** The programme has won many awards but to me there is a lot of information that is of no interest to the neutral supporter.

No information on the players or attendance figures.

Add to this a 20 minute detour due to a road closed on the way home  - not a very good night.

Programme too big
